Lithuanian cellist Elena Daunytė studied from 2000 to 2012 at the Arts School of M. K. Čiurlionis under Romanas Armonas. She continued from 2013 to 2015 at the Royal Northern College of Music of Manchester under Prof. Nicholas Jones and completed her studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2019 under Prof. Rimantas Armonas. Elena has won numerous international competitions out of which three with Grand Prix. She was awarded the 1st prize and special prize for the performance of a piece by Latvian composer (recorded by the Latvian Radio) at the international competition of A. Dombrovskis in Riga, Latvia. During her studies at the Royal Northern College of Music, she got the Raphael Sommer Virtuoso Prize and the Barbirolli Prize for Cello. While studying at Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, she was awarded the Grand Prix at the R. Kulikauskas Strings Competition.

Elena has appeared as a soloist in front of the Riga and Kaunas Symphony Orchestras, National and State Symphony Orchestras of Lithuania and the Symphony Orchestra of the Royal Northern College of Music of Manchester. She has taken part in the master classes by D. Geringas, G. Sollima, F. Helmerson, P. Graffin, D. Severin, T. Svane, N. Kalyanov, N. Ruzevic, C. Stinson, K. Georgian, F. Gouton, T. Riebl, F. Streich, P. Cropper, A. Isserlis, S. Fontanelli, and P. Prause. With her three sisters, she has established a family ensemble “Regnum Musicale” that has won many competitions in Europe and has already toured the US, Spain, Hong Kong, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

For the high musical achievements and representing Lithuania abroad, Elena has received recognition from the Presidents of Republic of Lithuania V. Adamkus and D. Grybauskaitė.
